Cloud Shadow 11

Alas,

as

I

   swang ~

My

cathedral

bell

   rang ~

A

toll

for

   the dead ~

In

my

whistling

   air head ~

And down a steep

canyon

I

   heard an echo ~

And found myself

 answer-

ing

   with a "hello" ~

To the gloom n' doom

spirit

of

   John Ringo...

Cloud Shadow 12

Who shot himself

in the head

dead

   some time ago...

Cloud Shadow 13

The fingers of

my hand

agrip

   the anchor tip ~

One by one

began

to splinter

   and chip ~

And I thought

"Maybe I ought

to

   just let go" ~

As I swang

to

 n'

   fro ~

Above the Deep Desert

rocks that

were joking

   n' laughing below ~

With

the somewhat

cheered-up

spirit of John Ringo...

Cloud Shadow 14

The cow rustler who

blew away

his brains

   some time ago...

Cloud Shadow 15

So in my mind's eye

I saw

me

   let go ~

Of the anchor that

swang

so dang

   to n' fro ~

And in my mind's eye

I saw me-

self

   fall into the embrace ~

Of the rocks

that

grinned

   in my face ~

The cold n' hard

rocks

of

   Deep Desert below ~

Where I could

shake

the hand

   of the so ~

Charming n' suave

spirit

of

John Rrrrrrringo!

Wayne plays Ringo in Stagecoach 1939...

The reputed killer

who ended-up

killing him-

self some time ago...
